Tips For Buying A Home
Getting Started 1. Write down all the things you want in your new home. How many bedrooms, baths, a one floor home or a two story home, do you want a garden, fenced in yard, in the city, etc. 2. Write down what areas you would be happy to live in. 3. Do you have special needs in this home like a wheel chair ramp, a piano, a pool table? 4. Is there a transportation problem. Will someone need to take a bus? How far do you want to drive to work? 5. Something very important, write down what payment you would feel comfortable with for a monthly payment.Next StepCheck out your credit report with the Credit Bureau. You need to make sure no one else’s bills are on your report by mistake. If so, then it must be addressed. You also need to know if you have good or bad credit. They will tell you your score. If you have weak credit they will tell you what you need to do to get it up to the best ratio. The better your credit, the more options you have for a better interest rate and kind of loan.Always remember that the lender will continually be rechecking your credit report till closing your loan, so don’t miss any monthly payments or charge up bills beyond your ratio limit. You could loose your loan at the last minute and loose everything you have invested to that point on your loan. Time to decide 1. It is time to call an experienced REALTOR. One that knows the area and will listen to your needs and follow thru. It’s time to call me, Laura Nelle. I can show you any listing in the MLS. By showing you all your choices I get input on what you like and don’t like. I’ll be able to check the MLS everyday for additional homes that come on the market for you to view. 2. We can meet at my office, at your convenience. Be sure to bring those notes with you and I will listen to what your dreams are and we will find the home on the market that best fits your wishes. The more you put down what you want the better I can help you. 3. I will set up appointments for you to see the homes you like. When you finally agree on the right on, it’s time to write a purchase agreement. When the agreement is signed by both you and the seller you are expected to go to a lender and start the financing process. The lender will let you know your options and show you an estimated payment for the loan you agreed upon. I will be there every step of the way for you and help assist you thru these times. Now if you are paying cash for your home just forget about the Credit Bureau and a loan. I will set up an appointment with your favorite attorney to close the agreement and be there for you and your questions. Just remember to bring your picture ID and your SS number. 4. If you have any questions just call me. There is a home for you. Laura N. Mallett, GRI 419-0622 |
